Sterlite Power Transmission ltd, a major player in private power transmission infrastructure in India and Brazil, operates through two units: global infrastructure and solutions. Sterlite Power Transmission manufactures products like power conductors, OPGW, and EHV cables and provides bespoke solutions through MSI. It also operates the convergence unit, utilising power utility infrastructure for telecommunications. In India, 10 completed and 5 ongoing projects span 9,246 km, with a total expenditure of Rs 244,860 million (US$3.34 billion). In Brazil, four sold and six ongoing projects cover 4,416 CKM with an expenditure of Rs 100,388.06 million (US$1.37 billion).
CRISIL Research predicts 4% CAGR power demand growth from 2021 to 2025, after a 1-2% dip in 2021 due to COVID-19. Industrial demand, the main driver, is poised to rise alongside industrial activity recovery, benefiting power transmission infrastructure developers and solution providers. The Sterlite Power share price is Rs 630 per share with a face value of Rs 2. The company aims to raise Rs. 1250 crore via equity shares with a Rs. 2 face value, as per its DRHP filing.
